Gatehouse Golf Club was formed, and the course was largely constructed in 1921, but
Gatehouse Golf Course was "formally opened" on 5th July 1922.
2021 represents the centenary of Gatehouse Golf Club. To commemorate this, a booklet has been produced to record the Club's first 100 years. Click the booklet icon below to see a copy:
In 1975 Mrs Murray Usher commissioned a report into the feasibility of the construction of a Championship golf course which was based around Low Barlay in Gatehouse. This document has been largely digitised and can be viewed by clicking here.
In 1934 Mrs Murray Usher commissioned a report into the feasibility of the construction of a golf course at Sandgreen. This document can be viewed by clicking here.
Following the publication of the Centenary Booklet, the latest results have been forwarded to the Galloway News, broadly-speaking on a monthly basis during the playing season. This has been organised by Alan McCreath who has provided recent submissions, continuing from the centenary year, to be included below as a more permanent record.
